Press Release
360º Virtual Tour of Sedona
E-motion,
a company from Springfield, Illinois, specializing in tourist Virtual Reality (VR)
websites and VR Tours, is excited to be in partnership with Greg Retegan from
Essence of Sedona. E-motion will be opening a "360° Virtual Reality
Tour of Sedona" website late summer/early fall 2004. Truly capturing the awesome
beauty of Sedona with its stunning spacious landscapes has been
impossible until now. Internet and computer technology offer a
way through VR Tours to show off Sedona like no printed media or video
can. These high quality VR Tours start as a picture that almost fills the
computer screen and move in a full 360° circle. They also have the
ability to zoom in and out as if one were looking through binoculars.
"I am most excited about
capturing the beauty of Sedona and making it accessible to the world,"
comments Mark Edwards of E-motion. "Our goal is to display the awesome
beauty of Sedona through VR Tours and to build a website around them. The
viewer will see an aerial view of Sedona and can zoom in on buttons that
open VR Tours of not only the landscape but also the inside of shops,
restaurants, galleries, resorts, hotels and about everything else that makes
Sedona the treasure it is."
A unique feature will be the
Virtual Walk in Uptown, Tlaquepaque, Hillside, Hozho, West Sedona and
other shopping districts. The viewer will be able to walk up and down
these districts by clicking within the VR tour itself. It will be possible to
turn around, zoom in on a store and click to enter and see the inside VR
Tour and then click on the door to return to the street. "Some of our
VR websites get the average person returning more than five times, and
about 6 percent of visitors are staying in the site from 1/2 hour to over
an hour. These are phenomenal web statistics. We are making this affordable
for everyone whether they are having us shoot a VR Tour or simply linking to our
VR Sedona website," says Edwards, adding that "The first time someone
sees our VR Tours they either respond with, ''Wow!' 'Cool!" or
"Neat!" The tours are so entertaining."
